Head bartender Jaymee Mandeville at Drago Centro is there every night except Tuesdays and Sundays. She along with Beverage Director/ Sommelier Michael Shearin, have devloped seasonal cocktail lists that are very original. Yet there are always a number of classic cocktails on special that are great. And she’s more than happy to whip you up something to your taste or select a wine for you. And when I can’t think of something I want, she always has a mai tai for me.
Drago Centro is probably the restaurant/bar that I frequent the most. With more than 40 check-ins according to foursquare, I’ve had a lot of cocktails from Jaymee. They’re very consistent.

George at Seven Grand
George has been at Seven Grand since it opened a few years ago. He’s absolutely my favorite bartender there. I recently went back to try the new cocktails. This was a Monday but usually George opens Wednesdays and Thursdays. He’s gone by 9 p.m. so catch him for happy hour. He’s occasionally there on Fridays and also Saturdays from 8 to close. This information was texted to me by another bar stalker so please call ahead to confirm.

Find Davidson Fernie at La Descarga on Friday and Saturday nights. He’s also at Harvard & Stone most other nights (Sunday through Wednesdays)
with occasional shifts at Playa. Look for him at the new Pour Vous opening next month September.
I first met Dave at Test Kitchen where he’s come to gradually know my style of cocktail (brown, bitter, stirred). He always has a new whiskey cocktail to introduce to me. Quite a few of the cocktails are recipes from well-known New York cocktail bars. I love that he’s so well-versed. A recent favorite was the Americano. I’ve featured some of his bourbon cocktails here and his other whiskey drinks here.

Devon at the Tasting Kitchen
I first met him at a Hatchi Mix preview. I was really impressed with his use of fruit in cocktails and later I nominated him for Table 20′s LA’s Best Bartender contest last year. He made it to the top 7!
Devon’s also been on Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen. He and Marcel went to culinary school together and Devon has a very well-developed palate. I like his term “libation therapist.” Check out his FB fan page here.
Devon tells me he’s going to be at TK Friday and Saturdays and every other Thursdays.

Garrett at 1886
Garrett at 1886 Bar works on Wednesdays and Saturdays. He may pick up a shift here and there but definitely see him on those two days.
I found Garrett to be very personable. Perhaps because he’s also an actor but he had an incredible memory for cocktails and their history. He has been bartending over 10 years.

Kate is now the bar manager at Formosa Cafe.
She can be found most nights there.
Kate works at Sotto on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. She’ll be starting at Eveleigh soon on other days.
I loved all the bourbon cocktails she’s made me but she also does cool things like beer cocktails.

Daniel works at O Hotel’s Bar | Kitchen on Saturdays and Mondays. He’s also at Playa.
Ask him to make you something with Fernet! Or Mezcal! Or well, anything. Pictured above is a beer & mezcal cocktail. It was quite a show when he swirled beer down a barspoon into the Collins glass and tapped the bottom of the glass with a wooden pestle.
Daniel is now at Bar | Kitchen Friday through Mondays. BK will be open on Sundays starting next month.
